Shut down the computer, remove the hard drive from inside your computer, and connect it to the data transfer cable.
Install your new empty drive into your computer and connect it to the motherboard.
Boot from the CD:
Follow your computer manufacturer’s instructions for changing the boot order. Often times, pressing the F12 key during computer startup will bring up a boot menu that allows you to choose the CD as the boot device.
Once booted, the data transfer software will display a listing of hard drives it finds in the computer. You will find that your old hard drive is listed as USB.
Select it as your Source and click “Next”.
When choosing the Destination, the Source drive you selected in step 2 will be greyed out. Your new drive will be displayed by Model and Size, and will be selectable.
Choose the new drive as the Destination, and then click the Next button.
Complete the cloning wizard by clicking “Next”. You will be prompted to verify the Source and Destination. Once you are confident you have selected correctly, click “Start Clone”.
Finished:
The cloning process usually finishes in a few minutes. Once completed, eject the CD from the optical drive.
Then shut down the computer using the Power button on the computer.
Disconnect the USB connection cable.
Turn on the computer, which will now boot from the new hard drive.
